Who is behind the permit forms
Most people only see the form. I work on everything that happens after they press submit.
I started at DPMPTSP DKI Jakarta in 2021 connecting data between government systems. Since 2023 I have been a full-time programmer there, writing PHP and Laravel for the apps residents and officers use every day: Jakevo, the queue system, the provincial job portal.
Between those apps sit a lot of APIs, SSO logins, and databases that have to agree with each other. That is where I spend most of my time, and where I like to be.

How I work

Check the query first
Most slow pages are slow queries. I look at the database before I touch anything else.

Keep a paper trail
Who changed what, and when. With citizens' data, an audit log is not an extra.

Expect other agencies
Government systems rarely stand alone. I design the API assuming someone else's team will depend on it.
